Penn Lyon Homes Receives Award of Excellence

Penn Lyon Homes Corporation was recently awarded the National Association of Home Builders, Building Systems Councils Award of Excellence. David W. Reed, President of Penn Lyon Homes Corporation accepted the award at Building Systems Councils Showcase 2008 in Memphis, Tennessee.

The BSC Award of Excellence was presented to Penn Lyon Homes for excellence in marketing and presentation of home plans for the Penn Lyon Homes Ecohealth Homes Collection. Comprised of five models, the Ecohealth Homes Collection was designed by Chatham Hill Residential Design & Build and features healthy, safe and sustainable construction methods and materials. Specifications include structural insulated panels (SIPS), mold resistant gypsum, tankless water heaters and low VOC paints. The Universal design also adheres to the National Center for Healthy Housing’s seven principles of healthy housing and is Energy Star compliant.

In addition to receiving the award at Showcase, Penn Lyon Homes award winning material will be on display for viewing by more than 100,000 builders and developers at the 2009 International Builders Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The BSC Award of Excellence marks the second award for The Penn Lyon Homes Ecohealth Homes Collection. Earlier this year, Penn Lyon Homes was recognized with the 2008 Best New Home Design Award from the Modular Housing Institute (MHI) and the National Modular Housing Council (NMHC).
