As part of the 'Building Green Seminar Series' launched by the Energy Resource Center, Rick Terry, with the Factory Built Housing Center, Penn College, and Dave Reed, president of Penn Lyon Homes, are presenting a seminar on how modular construction meets green building guidelines. The seminar will be held March 19, at the Carriage Corner Restaurant in Mifflinburg, PA.
Modular construction is “inherently green”, eliminating up to 75% of on-site waste while reducing the time and transportation costs associated with “on-site” construction. Rick Terry will describe the impact of green modular construction on local economies. He will explain modular construction’s partnership with the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) to assist modular manufacturers and their customers in taking advantage of the Energy Star program, which uses at least 15% less energy than conventional design.
Rick will discuss the incorporation of green certification programs into modular construction, and will describe how you can take advantage of modular’s green benefits in your next construction project. Through the use of specific examples, Rick will explore how commercial, residential, and institutional clients can utilize this fabrication to reduce both initial construction and lasting operational costs. Rick will be joined by Dave Reed who will share highlights of his experience incorporating green elements into modular home design.
