February, 2009- COEUR D’ALENE, ID- This month, Edgewood Log Structures based in Athol, Idaho announced plans to acquire Breckenridge, Colorado based Entrada Design Group, which specializes in Net-Zero Ready Energy Design for contemporary, mountain architecture. The companies have been in talks since late last year and the deal is expected to complete in April of this year. The acquisition will add the fourth company to the Edgewood Log Structures umbrella in 3 years.
Edgewood expects little restructuring to take place once the acquisition is finalized. “Entrada Design Group will remain in Breckenridge, Colorado for the time being,” says Brian Schafer, Edgewood Log Structures’ President. “However, we do expect to be able to expand Entrada’s contemporary, mountain architecture style into high end log and timber design by next year.” In addition to developing a Net-Zero Ready Energy system specific to log structures, Edgewood hopes to expand its presence in the Colorado mountain market through a local presence.
Edgewood Log Structures has successfully implemented projects throughout the country and abroad for over 25 years by providing inimitable design, project management, and a superior log and timber product. Known most exclusively for its Glass Forest® element and engineered pre-compressed, log wall building process, Edgewood continues to set standards in the log home industry.
