Building Systems: Construction Reinvented

Construction Reinvented.

Chad C. Harvey is the new executive director of the Modular Building Systems Association (Harrisburg, PA). Steven R. Snyder, the former executive director, who helped grow the organization beyond its former Mid-Atlantic narrow focus to a nationwide legislative watchdog on behalf of the modular industry, has gone into private practice as an attorney.

"Many of you have had the opportunity to speak or work with Chad over the past several years, and know he is quite capable and more than willing to assist each of our members either individually or collectively as an association, whatever the need may be," Michael J. Clementoni, president the MBSA. "Please join with me in congratulating and extending best wishes to Chad in his new endeavor as I am confident he will be most successful.Chad C. Harvey

Chad Harvey, the former deputy director of the MBSA for years, says he's ready for the challenges faced by the modular industry. "I am excited about the opportunity to lead the MBSA into the future. In times of great trial, comes great opportunity."

Proponents of building system and the modular building systems in particular, say the industry is poised to grow market share as the new home building industry improves in the future. This system enables former site builders for the first time to outsource design, engineering and construction, so that they can stay lean on staffing and concentrate on earning sales.

Site builders making the switch today says that much of the home building industry's infrastructure of talented trades people, simply no longer exists, victims of a cratering housing market.

Those builders going after green market, should investigate the modular building system. In addition to offering fast construction times, the modular system qualifies for important green building points, under either LEED or NAHB's Green Guidelines.

It's only appropriate to give a shout-out to longtime advocate, Steve Snyder, for his longtime service to the modular industry . If you need legal services in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area, give Steve Snyder a call at (717) 238-9130 or visit his website here. We wish him luck in his new endeavor.
