It seems that we all want to live in mansions like the stars and old money. Is this really as desirable as we think? Where is the balance between luxury and sustainability? What is the difference between needs and necessity? Will there ever be a dwelling that satisfies both extremes?

Until we, as a society, see the cost of living beyond our means, none of these luxuries will be permanent for the well-to-do, nor trickle down to the rest of us. But, once we place sustainable practices above everything else, we will all enjoy the luxuries that we deem so valuable. Why? We have technology and the understanding of how to maximize nature's gift of energy. We only lack the desire.
