I'm not exactly familiar with what is considered Central Virginia but I spend a lot of time locating modular builders all over the country and listing them by state. Here are the ones I have in Virginia http://www.modularresource.com/ByState/Virgin

What Builders Should Know About Google Maps

If you are in the home building or real estate arena, you may need some help attracting clients to your properties. The good news is Google has added "home for sale" search features to Google Maps.

Earlier this year, Google expanded this functionality by letting you select "real estate" from the "more" menu. Now Google has launched a much more robust feature. And the best part for you builders or real estate agents out there, you can list your homes for free on Google Maps.

"In the past, if yo… Continue

Home Buyer Publications Suspends Publication of Building Systems

As we are all aware, the current housing market has been challenging, to say the least. The publishing industry is in the midst of one of its toughest years in history as well, so here at Home Buyer Publications, we are feeling it on both fronts. After a very careful review and exploration of all channels, we have decided to suspend publication of Building Systems Magazine. This was a very difficult decision for us to make, since we believe that systems built housing and its inherent “gre… Continue

Spring Issue: A Variety of Modular Solutions to Building Green

Epoch Homes (Pembroke, NH) is one modular home manufacturer that has gotten into the green home building business in the Northeast in a big way. Recently, architect John Rossi and partner Quincy Vale, owners of Powerhouse Enterprises, saw a need for a quick, green solution for a small office, weekend home, starter-house or bachelor pad. They created the PowerPod, a self-contained modular green building with about 500 sq.ft. of living space.… Continue

New Home Inventory Shrinks More in March

The number of newly built, single-family homes on the market declined for a 23rd consecutive month in March as builders focused on winnowing down their inventories of unsold units, according to new-home sales data reported by the U.S. Commerce Department today. Inventory shrank to 311,000 units, which is a 10.7-month supply at the current sales pace.

"Builders are doing a great job of thinning the supply of unsold homes and positioning themselves for a slow but steady housing recovery," noted N… Continue

(Denver, Colorado) Charles Bevier, the former editor of an award-winning magazine, has launched a new communications company to help companies attract and retain clients with cutting-edge Internet marketing strategies. The new company, called Bevier Creative, is specializing in website design, search engine optimization and communications strategies for an online age.
“My extensive background in graphic design, journalism and most recently website development, has prepared me for this next step in my career,” says Charles Bevier, who has earned awards from Folio for excellence in magazine design and is a recipient of the Hearst Journalism Award for excellence in reporting. “In this new economic climate, you may have noticed that everything has changed. Trust is in short supply. Now more than ever, businesses need to communicate effectively and honestly with their clients. Let Bevier Creative help you reach your business goals by unifying your message across multiple media channels."
Bevier was former editor of Building Systems magazine, which was folded by Home Buyer Publications in April of 2009. “I want to thank the people in the building systems industries for all their help and support they have provided me over the years. So many to thank, so many to convey my gratitude,” said Bevier. “When I first became editor of the magazine in 1995, in my youthful ignorance, I initially thought of it as a stepping stone to somewhere else. But I quickly fell in love with the industry. I discovered that home building is one of the last frontiers of pure capitalism. The competition is fierce, its practitioners are passionate about what they do and the end product is literally, the American dream. While I will miss creating the magazine, my mission moving forward really is very similar to my previous post. I am helping those in the industry earn more market share by communicating their advantages with an effective Internet marketing strategy.”
About Bevier Creative: Owner Charles Bevier has assembled a talented team of independent web designers and programmers, to offer companies and individuals a comprehensive website design and development process. Bevier Creative is also well versed in search engine optimization, to help website owners’ rise organically in search engine results pages when computer users search for your services in your town, U.S.A.
The communication services Bevier Creative offers, includes copy writing, ghost writing, press releases, educational courses, graphic design and print coordination.

Charles - love your site!

I'm convinced that now is really the best time to build. Record low interest rates, affordable building materials, choice of quality builders and exceptional building sites. All of the stars are lined up just right for a quality home at an affordable price. You know that log home lovers often plan for years before building and although the current economic climate has put some on hold, there are many that are keeping their plans on track. We know that they have many choices, and certainly appreciate their business.

Keep up the good work - Jan

Hey Charles!!!

It has been a very long winter here in Tennessee. It has been slow since last year, however, you know me always the optimist, we have closed on over one million dollars in business in the last 45 days. We also have several more we plan to close in the next 30 to 45 days. So we are very thankful and grateful. Being a diversified General Contractor serves us well. We have sold both Log and Modular homes more so than the traditional stick built in the last year. The interest rate drop has helped us! Our clients know this is the cheapest that they will probably ever see money again and are deciding to go ahead and build. Our appraisals still are an obstacle here with nothing reselling. We are looking forward for that to change. Anyway, thank you for the comment. Love the new website, Great Job!!! Please feel free to contact me anytime if I can be of assistance to you. Hope you have a wonderful day! Donna

Thank you Charles for all the BSM is doing to promote our industry.

Needless to say, it is a struggle out here. Though the Northeast is not as bad off as other parts of the country, consumer confidence is at an all time low. Home buyers are holding off and most are in the wait and see mode. Times like these requires you to go back to basics, get your people involved in finding solutions , and maximizing every opportunity.

I am looking forward to SHOWCASE and seeing my industry friends. That includes you Charles, my friend. It will give my partner Tim O'Brien and I an opportunity to talk with other manufacturers and venders on how they are coping with this economy, and we will be taking advantage of the seminars the conference is offering.

We will see you in Memphis.
