I was going to start a forum about advertising ideas, then I saw this one, but nobody has replyed...so how about it everyone...what works for you? We are here to help each other, right?
I just started a business in March! I've set up a website, sent out 2000 emails...(not spamming) and made 100's of phone calls . I've join tweeter, set up groups in facebook and linkedin and other networking sites. I'm calling on Timber Framers, Log Home manufacturers, Log Home builders, Landscaping, Architects, Structural Engineers, and anyone else who will listen. I just got my website set up last week and had 243 hits and I haven't even set up with directories yet. I'm making on a shoe string budget. visit my website...it's a work in process www.logandtimberconnections.com.
Good for you Will! I really appreciate your sharing and congratulations on your new business. Tell us more about what you do and what seems to be working the best so far with marketing.
Forums help a lot. I get to meet people with the same interest, get ideas from them through the discussions. I send them private messages to ask some more ideas or clear some things, and of course, share some strategies as well. Even if the business is quite different, you can end up with conversations that will benefit you both. One may know someone or something which might share something valuable still, like news, and bills, and even sentiments. It's one way of building a good network.
One fella I met in a forum was telling about how he was able to boost his business through tweeting. I knew tweets can pull hits, but I didn't know it can be that effective. So I'm like, goodness thanks... This is going to help me maximize the use of the resource I already have.
I am a manufacturer and Wholesale Supplier of Granite Vanity Tops, Kitchen Countertops and Garden Decorative Statuary. I open my online store for buliding stones and vanity tops in Dec 08. I've set up a website http://www.BuyStonesOnline.com, I attach my website with Ebay and amzone. I invite my old buyesr, and send invitations for partnership to new people who are in construction business. I've join tweeter, set up groups in facebook and linkedin and other networking sites.
By the way- The publisher of this web site also producers many magazines for consumers, Log Home Living, Country's Best Log Homes, Old House Journal and Old House Interiors to name a few. We have web sites like loghome.com to compliment them. Please keep these titles in mind when you consider your advertsing options. Thank you!!
